* No food or drink is allowed in this facility. Also food preservation is not allowed.
* Use ext.92 when you need to call users in this facility.

501 RNA Lab Accepts up to P2 level experiment. A part of Lab bench is RNase Free Zone.

502 Equipment Analysis Room Various types of analysis devices are installed.
503 Electrophoresis Room Lab for electrophoresis of DNA and protein
504 Darkroom Users can develop images. Auto developing machines are provided.
505 Cell Culture Room Room for ES cell cultures. No shared use allowed.
506 Tissue Testing Room Users can use a stereoscopic fluorescence microscope
507 Tissue Testing Room Users can use Confocal laser scan microscope, inverted fluorescence microscope
508 Animal Analysis Room Users can produce tissue slices. Animal testing can be conducted in this lab only.
509 Cleaning Room Cryogenic freezer, pipette washer, ultrasonic washing machine installation.
514 P3 Lab Room for conducting P3 level experiments. Now it is used as P2 Lab.
515 Cold Room CO2 gas cylinder installation. It supplies CO2 to incubators in each lab.
516 Cold Room Used for protein refinement experiments and sample preservation.
518 Reagent Preparation Room The room for preparation of culture media and solutions for each experiment.
519 Cell Analysis Room FACSCalibur and GeneChip system installation. Users can use GeneSpring.

Accepting Living Modified Organisms and Nonproliferation Steps

When users conduct the genetic transformation experiments, they should apply to the President of Kumamoto University or MEXT for approval. (in the case of Minister approval experiment *1) If users conduct the genetic transformation experiment at the laboratory in GTC, they need to give an outline of the laboratory of GTC (name of the facility, laboratory and design of the laboratory *2 ) on the application form. For details "Relevant documents of living modified organism". Application form and copy of approval notice must be submitted to the office of GTC when users conduct the experiments at P2 or P3 level.

*1 It is rare.
*2 Users may not draw the design of the lab.

Laboratories except [401] DNA lab., [501]RNA lab and [514]P3 lab.

*Autoclave should install inside the building.		 [401]DNA lab and [501] RNA lab. One safety cabinet and one autoclave are installed in each lab. Use the sign " IN P2 level experiment".
[514] P3 lab. Users need to ask the facility staff before submit the P3 lab Use application form.
*The laboratory is used for P2 level experiment.
P4 Level Lab. We do not have the P4 level lab.
